It has been T-27 days since my last post, long between but I am still in January for the month. I am beat and feel like the big white elephant in the room.

To simplify what is going on I pretty much am going to put into bullet points because I need to keep moving forward.

My dad was in the hospital for the holiday week. He had a cyst (benign) behind his knee and it wound up bursting on top of his arthritis making things worse. He was released after the new year with a good bill of health. He had a physical therapy, monitoring his blood count with his hematologist.
I am first blessed that I do have a job, but what I thought would have been a positive with a new implmentation occuring at work, it went to antoher. Part of me thought my boss would have at least told them I could do the job but I am not even in the org chart.
My kids are doing well which is most important are doing well. Lucas and Daelyn got glasses and Ryan the child who doesn’t like to eat his veggies has perfect vision.
I lost my cellphone on Monday at work but I think someone took it. It was a piece of me with pictures of my kids and my personal information. I am worried that someone may take advantage of it.

I think I summed it up but it comes down to I hate to be lied to behind my back. No one likes bad news and no one likes to lose, but I have learned that though it is disappointing, at least I was dealt the cards and I can move from it. There will come a day when they will be regrets from decision that were made.

Today I did have a good day, yes the kids drove me crazy and the same things that happen every day that drive me crazy did occur.

The usual question asked today is what do I want and tomorrow will be what did I get the answer is nothing and not because they didn’t want to get me something it was that I didn’t want anything. What I want is not of the physical substance rather self worth for myself.

I am looking for fulfillment of making what is good for me and how to make me happy. Here is how what I hope to accomplish or at least get a strong structure to build from:

Weight Loss
Financial Organization
Career advancement
Religion
Small Business Development

Realization will it occur, I believe it can be established but for success it all comes to allowing others to help, accept and learn from the criticism and how to make it a positive.

There is something there for me and I will see it ..wish me luck

I have definitely want up a new degree. I am feeling kind of blah that my husnd as able to make extra money and he said no. One reason is it is upstate and the other is no friends. I can understand far away and no friend he hangs with during the day. I kind of would like the challenge of being alone and running a house for a month.

Who knows maybe the next time it will be in a warm area and he will go

Welcome to the 2008 Holiday Season

Hello one and all and welcome to the beginning of season. I am hoping to end the year with several updates along with how I can change it in the 2009.

I been thinking of what I want to be involved in and what I like to learn but more at an accelerated rate. I don’t have the luxury of going to classes for a long period time so if I can take workshop of something which I do have knowledge and enhais what ince it for my career and it can also benefit me at home also.

I am jumping on the social networking sites, getting a OpenID and will be linking them to my blog page and eventually editing manually against the templates I use from the talented designers and follow copyright rules.

As you read this, you are thinking when am I going to speak about the Holiday and what I am going to do. I think if I start putting an update of the holidays, well my dear friends who have gotten past the first two paragraphs, here is what the holiday season is going to be.

I want my children to be aware of what is going in today’s economy and how it effect how we live today. I don’t want them to grow up but understanding the difference between a want and a need. We didn’t have much and now we are investing in upgrading the house the distinction needs to be made. I do feel bad that yes, there won’t be no sporadic vacation and there isn’t as much opportunity to just buy something because I was at the store.

Another which is starting to get my goat, is now that my children are older and the family does not see each before we get all defensive I know it takes two and not everyone can be to blame. The children are older, and our kids and hteir kids are second cousins, the relationship is not close but they do speak when they see each other. I think why exchange gifts, why can’t it be just a simple visit. They are expecting to get a gift, you shouldn’t expect anything when I grew up and went to a relative at the holidays year after year, I was told upfront not to expect anything.

I know growing up I was close to my cousins but as adults we went our own way and lost touch over the years. Do I regret it, yes all our children are close in age.

I think today I am done and will look at the snow outside. I wonder how much will be here tommorrow

Organized….am I ?

My job for the past few years has been a project administrator and one of the main requirements of the job is to be ORGANIZED. As I clean my desk, send out email reminders I come home early due to the company closing at 3 pm.

I come and what I do at work and makes me GREAT at my job (you liking the caps right) I don’t do at home. When I leave the job, I leave my skills there with it. I use to be the detail queen, with electronic and date book in sync to a “T”. Today, my desk has multiple papers on the desk, I have a committee event I need to organize and I have to start. In 3 days also, there is a Shopping night and my tasks are to make a lottery wreath and Santa Letters. I am so disappointed that I really am not the person I use to be.

Today, that is going to change, this disoriented life at home is going to effect me on various levels and wind up making use my weekends working on all the stuff I volunteered for and not spending time with my kids.

Well, lets see how it will change, cross your fingers and hope all goes well.

Where is the Almond Joy

What happened to the Almond Joy and Mounds candy in my kids bags this year? Was it taken out of the fun bags of candy that we religiously buy waiting to give the little goblins and witches that come to our hourse for their treats.

As I looked through my kiddies bags, i was disappointed in not finding that blue wrapper. My kids asked why am I sad and not eating theiir candy, well the first candy bar that starts the munching is the almond joy but a long tradition is now gone .

As for those who are in my select few of knowing what goes on in my life, we are rennovating the house. As the process begins and my hair color continues to show those gray streaks in the long term I know it is right. Something had to be done to make this “my house”.

How will I be paying for this, this quote says a lot

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

How are things with the renovation, going smoothly. I got the sheet rock up finally and now picking out the tiles and paint. I didn’t realized there that many shades for white and beige. Seriously, how does one get a job creating paint colors when even though they have two different names they look pretty much the same in the light. We are hoping by the end of next week to have the living room done with tile and all. The only reason other than me not picking out a tile is the argument of radiant heat. I was being cost effective and my husband was adamant on getting it. The next part is once we get in the kitchen the whole argument will start again because I do not want to spend more money on it when I only agreed on the living room.

We will see how this pans out.

Deconstruction of the home

Yes, I have done it. We are doing work that we have put off for the past 11 years to begin this week.

The thing that I realize look at today’s economy, uncertainity of debt and if I lose my job how the heck will I be able to handle this all. I am scared very scared with more gotcha’s coming out there is no way I am going to be within the budget I plan.

I will be posting the process as it goes room by room, phase by phase with pictures reflecting it. I have the before pictures and the naked picture.

Today we got the screen door and it is so nice to look ati. I can’t wait to see it during the day to see how bright it is.
